Our Board found a VERY distinguished judge to determine the winners of our contest. AJ Goldman is a photographer from Santa Fe. https://www.aj-goldman.com/ He called to share who the winners were and said that all the photos looked like everyone had a lot of fun and they all were so creative. This is what he sent me by email:
“The photos selected were based on creativity, composition, and aim.
I create work in experimental art projects including mixed media, conceptual photography, and installation art. My artistic work concerns the confrontation of the cross-cultural, hybrid identities, and intense observation of the social, cultural, and environmental sovereignty. And, I am dedicated to raising awareness about human rights, investigating my work on social justice narratives related to identity and immigration rights. I recently was selected for a second time into the Salon d’Automne Paris’ historical society. The annual Salon was established in 1905 by Avant-Garde artist and since had artists such as Henri Matisse, Paul Cezanne, Marc Chagall, Marcel Duchamp, Salvador Dali, Pablo Picasso, and more exhibit their artworks in the show. I am the first Diné artist to become part of the historical event and to be part of the society. My second show will be displayed in the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris, also in October 2020.”
